Agnola Care Homes Corp. is developing small, person-centred supported-living homes for adults 18+ with autism, developmental disabilities, mental-health needs and related support needs.
Our goal is to create homes that feel like homes — not institutions.
Each Agnola home is planned for up to six residents.
Every resident will have their own private bedroom while sharing welcoming common spaces such as the kitchen, dining room, living room and recreation areas.
Support will be individualized based on each person’s needs, goals and abilities.
Services may include:
Activities of Daily Living (ADLs)
Bathing, dressing and grooming support
Personal hygiene
Toileting support
Meal preparation
Laundry and household routines
Medication reminders and appropriate medication support
Mobility and transfer assistance
Life-skills development
Budgeting and money-management support
Appointment assistance
Community participation
Transportation support
Recreation and social activities
Independence-building
Daily routines
Individualized support planning
Family communication and involvement
A successful shared home depends on more than having an available bedroom.
Before forming each household, Agnola will consider:
Support needs
Staffing requirements
Communication styles
Sensory needs
Behavioural support needs
Preferred routines
Social preferences
Accessibility
Location
Safety
Household compatibility
Our goal is to create households where residents can live safely, comfortably and respectfully together.
Agnola is taking a different approach to developing our first home.
Instead of signing a lease first and hoping the right residents appear afterward, we are building our family interest list first.
Once we identify a compatible group of prospective residents, we will use their needs and location preferences to help determine where the home should be located.
This allows us to consider:
Proximity to family
Day programs
Employment or volunteering
Transit
Healthcare
Community activities
Accessibility
Existing support networks
All properties will be subject to the applicable municipal, zoning, fire, building, insurance and other requirements before residents move in.
Our first supported-living homes are being developed as private-pay and family-funded options rather than MCCSS-funded residential placements.
Depending on the individual situation, families may use a combination of personal income, family contributions, eligible benefits or individualized funding.
Government funding programs have specific rules, so eligible housing costs and support-service costs may need to be kept separate.
Families are encouraged to confirm eligible expenses directly with the appropriate funding administrator.
Our supported-living model may be suitable for an adult who:
Is age 18+
Wants to move toward greater independence
Can benefit from a small shared household
Needs some level of ADL or community-living support
Would benefit from structured routines
Is comfortable having a private bedroom with shared common spaces
Has family or a support network involved in planning
Is seeking a private-pay or family-funded housing option
Higher-support needs do not automatically exclude someone.
However, staffing levels, safety needs, property requirements and household compatibility must be carefully assessed before a placement is considered.
You do not need to be ready to move tomorrow.
Families may join our interest list whether they are looking for:
Housing soon
A move within the next year
Future planning
Respite first
Help understanding what supported living may look like
Complete our Family Interest Form:
There is no cost or commitment to join.
Completing the form does not guarantee a housing placement, room reservation, service agreement or tenancy.
